Hello. My name is Mike Lefebvre and I am the owner and all-around main guy here at Better Light Media. I grew up in Upstate New York, attended Berklee College of Music in Boston to play drums and study music production & engineering, spent most of my 20’s traveling the country in the back of a van trying to be a rock star, became a licensed Real Estate Appraiser, then a licensed Real Estate Agent, then fell in love with photography and have been capturing the places people call “home” ever since. No longer a licensed Real Estate Appraiser or Agent (but very much still a drummer), I now spend my days behind the lens and in front of the computer, helping Real Estate Agents become total rock stars in their clients’ eyes. I am a formerly licensed real estate agent. In fact, this business officially started way back in 2008 when I was still actively working with buyers and sellers. One day an agent in my office said, “Mike, your listing photos always look so good! Will you take my photos for me? I’ll pay you.” and at that moment, a new path was forged!
Flash forward to today, and although I am no longer a licensed real estate agent, I know firsthand how hectic your life is. I intimately know all about your stresses, because I've had them myself. I also know what you need: Consistent, high-quality marketing materials, delivered in a timely fashion, that present your client’s home beautifully and make you an absolute hero in their eyes.

I’ve been proudly providing exceptional marketing materials to the best real estate agents in the business for over 15 years. Along the way, I’ve gotten pretty good at what I do. In fact, I was way beyond excited to win the coveted “Real Estate Photographer of the Year” award from the prestigious Photography for Real Estate community. An international competition of the very best real estate photographers in the world. Pretty high honors!
Although the name “Better Light Media” is new, the business is not. I’ve been at this since 2008. I don’t shoot weddings. I don’t shoot food. I don’t shoot fashion. My specialty is spaces: homes, properties, buildings and architecture. When that’s all you do every day for 15+ years, you really have no choice but to get pretty good at it.

Better Light Media is NOT some big, faceless corporate real estate media factory with dozens of rotating staff photographers churning out generic marketing materials. It’s basically me, with a little help. I’m local, personal, “boutique-y” and proud of it. I know that you don’t need another vendor, you need a PARTNER in your business! So although it might mean that my calendar fills up a bit more quickly, it also means you’ll get the same photographer and consistent service and materials each time you work with me. It means that I’ll take the extra time on-site to insure your listings, and in turn YOU, truly shine! It also means when you need that emergency edit after hours, you’re more likely to connect with me and get it fixed before the Corporate McMega-shop even responds to your email.
